Bekele Abshiro and Desta Temesgen, a husband and wife team established BAPLC over forty years ago. They have provided the vision that has guided BAPLC and its subsidiaries through its many accomplishments and continued growth. Their continued hard work and commitment to excellence provides the foundation for the success of BAPLC, its subsidiaries and affiliates.

Bekele Abshiro and Desta Temesgen are dedicated parents of seven children. Several of their children now play an important role in the continued successful operation of BAPLC. They are:

Mekdes Bekele

 Mekdes Bekele is Vice president of NET&COM. Prior to joining NET&COM, she held several positions with the Xerox Corporation.  Mekdes currently resides in the United States. Mekdes received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from the Rochester Institute of Technology.  She is currently pursuing her MBA

Mesfin Bekele

Mesfin Bekele is Managing Director of NET&COM. Prior to joining NET&COM, he was a Computer Engineer with EDS in the United States. Mesfin currently resides in Ethiopia.  While living in the United States, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. 

Fasil Bekele

Fasil Bekele is Chief Financial Officer of BAPLC. He currently resides in Ethiopia. Fasil received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley.

Eyob Bekele

Eyob Bekele is General Manager of TASTY FOODS AND DESTA PLC. Eyob is also the primary international trade manager responsible for all aspects of contact and coordination with our foreign partners.  He currently resides in Ethiopia. 

Tigist Bekele

Tigist Bekele received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is currently working in her field in Rochester, New York.
